MatchAwards in ChatGPT, Claude and other AI assistants

You can use MatchAwards inside AI assistants such as ChatGPT and Claude without a MatchAwards account. When you do, the assistant sends our server the request it builds from your conversation: which MatchAwards tool to use and its inputs (for example a NAICS code, a state, a keyword or an opportunity id). We use those inputs only to look up public opportunity and award data and send it back. We do not receive your name, email address or chat history, and we do not use cookies here.

What we record for each request, and why. To prevent abuse and to count usage, our server keeps a usage log. For each tool call it records:

For each day it also counts requests per network block, request type, and the app's self-reported name and version. When a request comes from ChatGPT's published network addresses, we also store a scrambled form of the anonymous user identifier ChatGPT provides, made with a secret key, so we can count distinct ChatGPT users. We cannot turn it back into the identifier, and we cannot link it to you.

What our assistant server never records: your search inputs (keywords, codes, ids), the content of requests or replies, your full network address, or any other data the assistant sends. The MatchAwards web app's request logs record the public-data lookups our server makes (path and query, no user identity) and are kept for about an hour, never longer than until the next deploy.

Short-lived data. To apply rate limits, the server holds two things in memory for about a minute: your full network address (an IPv6 address shortened to its first 64 bits), and a keyed scramble of the ChatGPT identifier. Neither is ever written to disk. Usage totals (counts per tool and per app type, and counts of distinct users over the last hour and day) are kept in memory only and reset when the server restarts.

How long we keep it. Usage-log entries are deleted after 180 days. Server log lines (time, request path, status, duration and a scrambled client key, with no addresses or content) are kept until about 30 MB of newer lines replace them, usually a few weeks.

Sharing. We never sell these records or share them with third parties. Results you receive come from public sources (SAM.gov, state procurement portals, Grants.gov, USAspending, USAJOBS) and job boards, and link back to them.

Your choices. Questions and deletion requests: support@matchawards.com. Because we keep no account, name or full address for these requests, we usually can't find records that belong to one person. If you tell us roughly when and from which app you used MatchAwards, we will look.

Your conversation itself is handled by the AI assistant you use, under its own privacy policy.
